Solutions Architect


As part of the Production Operations team, the Solutions Architect will work closely with all technical teams to design scalable and distributed cutting-edge solutions. The individual will focus on building in high standards, agility and performance. The solutions architect will also play a key role in shaping up the organisation’s future.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, document, test and propose solutions to existing business challenges, making use of existing and new technology stacks.
  • Define requirements and implementation plans for new solutions to support the organisation.
  • Planning and refining production platforms, scaling and adapting it to support growth.
  • CI/CD deployments on Kubernetes based platforms, both on-prem and on multi-cloud infrastructure.
  • Possess an understanding of cloud-native architectures, and be familiar with implementations involving service discovery, circuit breakers, client-side load balancing, and other architectural patterns related to elastic infrastructure.
  • Contribute towards a learning culture of continuous improvement within, and outside of Production Operations.
  • An ambassador of DevOps culture, open-source technologies and understands SRE driven workflows.

Essential Skills & Prerequisites:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience within production operations.

  • Ability to articulate and simplify complex solutions.

  • Efficient, able to multi-task and possesses a winning attitude.

  • Comfortable in an agile and fast-moving organization.

  • Experience with high availability, high-scale, and performance systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure codification and multi-purpose automation.

  • Understands SRE concepts and familiar with Service Level Objects, working with Engineering teams to meet error budgets.

  • Solid experience with a broad mix of technologies, including:

    • Kubernetes/OpenShift

    • MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, ELK)

    • RabbitMQ, Kafka

    • Azure cloud

    • Clustered file systems like CephFS or GlusterFS

    • Object storage like RiakCS, Ceph, S3, Swift

    • Linux, VMWare, KVM

    • CI/CD (Jenkins, Git, Team City)

    • Ansible, Terraform, Octopus

    • Red Hat patch management solutions

  • Advanced knowledge of data-center infrastructure, virtualization, and fault-tolerant systems.

  • Experience with distributed architectures, SOA, microservices and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
