Patton Boggs has been ranked among the nation's Top 100 AmLaw firms since 2002. It is consistently ranked as the nation's top lobbying firm by various industry and national publications. The firm was named Best USA Law Firm: Regulatory and Public Procurement 2012 at the International Legal Alliance Summit and Awards (ILASA) held June 14, 2012 in Paris. The award recognizes Patton Boggs for excellence in the practice of regulatory and public procurement law. It is the third time in four years that the firm won the Gold Award, having also been recognized as best US Regulatory and Public Procurement firm in 2009 and 2010. According to The National Law Journal's "NLJ 250" regional report, Patton Boggs ranks among the largest firms in the New Jersey, Denver, Washington and Dallas markets. April 2, 2012. Patton Boggs was ranked twice in the National Law Journal's annual Legal Times 150 listing of the largest Washington Law Firms. Patton Boggs commits annually $30,000 for three scholarships as part of the Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship Program, established by the Minority Corporation Counsel Association. Additionally, the firm established an annual scholarship with the National Council of La Raza to award a $10,000 fellowship to underwrite a first-year Hispanic/Latino law student in summer employment. Further, Patton Boggs embraces and promotes a variety of diversity organizations and initiatives. Summer associate program

The firm offers a nine-week summer associate program in its Dallas, Denver, New York/New Jersey and Washington, D.C. offices. The summer program gives associates a fairly accurate picture of what life as a junior associate is like at the firm. Summer associates find their own work through a free-market system, which is monitored by the recruiting committee to ensure that each summer associate works in a variety of practice areas. They can attend an unlimited number of lunches with attorneys. In the D.C. office, the lunch budget is $30 per person, but increases to $40 on Fridays. Other offices have policies tailored to their own locations. The firm holds weekly social events, ranging from a barbecue at a partner's home to a boat cruise to an evening at a comedy club. You get a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the firm. In 2009, the firm made offers of permanent employment to 66% of its 29 summer associates, but increased the offer rate to 85% of the 18 members in its 2010 summer associate class. To date, the firm has not deferred and has no plans to defer start dates for incoming associates. BlackBerrys are provided to summer associates.
