We commit to investing the time and resources necessary to hire, mentor and retain lawyers of diverse backgrounds, recognizing that diversity efforts must not end with recruitment. Members of our firm actively participate in several national and local organizations that promote diversity within our profession, including the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, National Bar Association, Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the Louisiana Bar Association's Minority Involvement and Diversity Sections.
Summer associate program
Liskow & Lewis' summer associate program serves as the primary source for hiring entry-level attorneys. The 2012 program is designed to allow second-year law students the opportunity to learn first-hand about the practice of law and, more importantly, about our unique culture and dynamic law practice.
Summer associates are not typically assigned to a specific section of the firm. Rather, we encourage law students to work with several different practice groups over the course of their clerkship. This flexibility not only promotes a better understanding of the firm and our attorneys, it also provides an opportunity for a summer associate to develop or hone a particular interest or work preference during his or her clerkship. Each summer associate also is assigned an attorney mentor who acts as a guide through the clerkship experience and as an additional resource to assist the summer associate in making an informed career decision.
