The Role
GiG is looking for an HR Admin Apprentice who could join our amazing People Ops team. This is a paid internship during the summer months, starting in July 2024 for 6 months.
Main Responsibilities:
- Onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Registering employees with JobsPlus for any new addition, termination/internal change
- Checking and submitting of FS4 and relevant forms linked to the IRD
- Coordinate and take part in onboarding induction sessions
- Support sub teams within the PeopleOps team as well as other teams where necessary
- Create and maintain HR files with updates and changes
- Manage the HRIS for employees, ensuring that the relevant HR database is up-to-date, accurate, and complies with local legislation
- Compile reports as requested
- Prepare ad hoc HR-related admin and respond to-day to-day requests related to HR issues
- Preparation of work permit applications, employment licenses and renewals
- Support in relation to internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits and company policies
- Assist in preparation of monthly payroll documentation
Requirements:
- Basic payroll knowledge and experience
- Basic knowledge of Maltese Employment Law
- Tech savvy, comfortable using Microsoft Office/GSuite/Slack applications, in particular Excel or similar
- Fluent in English
- Previous experience with similar roles will be considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
- Willingness to learn
