With the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) all set to come into effect in January 2014, employers are working hard to identify full-time employees to escape from getting penalized. But the real question is whether the state and federal governments are really geared up to implement the changes by January next? While there are a host of benefits that an employee can look for, PPACA will not permit a worker to stay on the employer’s plan if his or her income and family size qualifies them for Medicaid.
