In order to decrease the impact of layoffs, Yahoo is planning to sell many of there advertising technology platform like Right Media. Yahoo CEO, Scott Thompson, is considering Google and Microsoft as possible buyers. Most likely, the concept for this sale is to turn a cost center into a revenue source. It is said that only a handful of employees working in those units have to move to another employer. Right media was bought by Yahoo in 2007 and has 300,000 active users globally.
